According to blockchain statistics, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin sold his whole remaining ownership of 500 MakerDAO tokens today on CoW Protocol, collecting 353 ETH worth around $580,000 in return.
The decision came after MakerDAO co-founder and CEO Rune Christensen published a blog post on Friday outlining long-term plans for a reimplementation of the project built on a new blockchain dubbed NewChain, which may be forked from the Solana blockchain. A switch to the Rust-based Solana codebase would be a huge step forward for the project, which is now written in Solidity and built on Ethereum.
