The remaining cash from Optimism’s first airdrop, one of the best Layer 2 networks on Ethereum, will be sent directly to the qualifying addresses that haven’t yet claimed the airdrop.
According to blockchain data, the airdrop, which started on June 1, 2022, has given out 166 million of the almost 215 million tokens set aside for it to addresses that had claimed it prior to the announcement.
According to Optimism, approximately 25% of eligible addresses did not claim the airdrop and would therefore receive the direct handout today.
19% of Optimism’s initial token supply will be given away through airdrops, the company has promised. Optimism states that 13.73% of the initial supply is still available after its two airdrops to date. A third airdrop has not yet been announced by Optimism.
Based on Total Value Locked, optimism is presently the second-largest L2 on Ethereum, according to a source.
