According to Bitfinsider, Twitter is seeking to secure the governmental permits needed to integrate payments into the site, including potential crypto capabilities.
As part of Elon Musk’s drive to convert Twitter into a “super app,” the social media platform is seeking for licenses and building the software needed to bring payments to the network, according to the Financial Times, citing people familiar with the company’s intentions.
Payments would be focused on fiat currencies “first and foremost,” with crypto capabilities added later.
Elon Musk has stated that he wants Twitter to offer similar capabilities as he seeks to diversify the company’s revenue streams since taking over.
