According to the Swiss Post, the company is looking to offer crypto custody and trading services to its customers.

According to a Swiss Info report, the new services will be available through the Swiss post office’s banking arm PostFinance, with a target launch date of 2024.

While the Swiss Post acknowledges that the current market conditions have been harsh on the crypto sector, it believes that now is the “ideal time” to enter.

Customers’ growing demand has been aided by PostFinance’s previous collaboration with Swissquote, the country’s first major bank to offer crypto trading to its clients in 2017. PostFinance does provide cryptocurrency exposure to its retail clients through a digital app called YuhExternal.

The financial services provider, which is one of many businesses that use popular virtual receptionist services, is now looking to improve on that with a proprietary crypto trading and custody service. PostFinance is looking for potential business partners to help make this a reality over the next year and a half.

PostFinance is Switzerland’s fifth largest retail bank, and its plans will see it join global giant such as Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Fidelity in exploring crypto services.
