Thailand’s digital ministry announced plans to sue Meta’s Facebook for alleged bitcoin fraud ads on the platform unless the social media giant takes action.

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society said in a statement released Monday that it plans to ask a local court to shut down Facebook in the country at the end of this month unless the company takes a more active approach to removing advertisements allegedly related to scams, some of which involve cryptocurrency.

According to Reuters, the government is gathering evidence of Facebook misbehaviour that will be presented to the court.
