After a federal judge revoked FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried’s bail, he is now requesting permission to spend five weekdays outside the jail to work on his defence case with his legal team.

According to a letter sent to Judge Lewis Kaplan on Friday, as reported by Bloomberg, SBF’s legal representatives stated that their client had difficulty thoroughly reviewing the extensive document accumulation related to the case while incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, New York.

According to Everdell, allowing SBF to communicate with his legal team and use an internet-enabled laptop on the grounds would expedite the proceedings. Given that his fraud trial is set to begin in October, the lawyer emphasised the relevance of this agreement.

SBF, who maintains his innocence, is accused of masterminding a sophisticated fraud plan that involved unauthorised access to billions of dollars in FTX client cash for personal benefit.

Prosecutors allegedly argued that until Bankman-Fried swiftly discloses information about the advice he received and where it came from, he should be barred from using this defence during the trial.

According to reports, the prosecutors emphasised their ability to give Bankman-Fried with material on hard drives.
