Polkadot has published version 3 of its cross-chain messaging format Cross-Consensus Messaging (XCM), which improves interoperability among its ecosystem’s blockchains.
Polkadot co-founder Gavin Wood revealed that the update’s code had been successfully merged into the master branch of the Polkadot repository on GitHub. After 15 months of development, XCM version 3 is currently in production and is interoperable with all application-specific blockchains (parachains) in the Polkadot ecosystem.
Polkadot’s capacity to move assets between multiple blockchains has been improved with the implementation of XCM version 3, according to the Polkadot team. This applies to both normal tokens and NFTs.
