On Tuesday, Optimism, a Layer 2 network constructed on top of Ethereum, completed a scheduled upgrade.
According to an explanation post, the Bedrock upgrade introduces a number of enhancements, including lower transaction fees.
According to the network’s status page, the upgrade began shortly after 12 p.m. ET and was declared complete around 3 p.m. ET. According to a status page maintained by OP Labs, the majority of the network’s essential functions have been restored.
The upgrade status page indicated that the network’s public endpoint was back online just before 6 p.m. ET.
