The makers of the enormously popular ChatGPT chatbot, OpenAI, are taking its chatbot to the next level with the release of an official Apple iPhone ChatGPT app.
“Since the launch of ChatGPT, we’ve heard from users that they enjoy using it on the go.” “Today, we’re releasing the ChatGPT app for iOS,” said OpenAI in a news release.
According to OpenAI, the free app would allow users to sync their history across devices. OpenAI Plus subscribers will gain early access to features, faster responses, and access to GPT-4 directly from their iPhone.
Not wishing to exclude Android users, OpenAI announced that an Android version will be available soon.
Until now, anyone who wanted to access ChatGPT’s features had to download a third-party software that used an API or visit the company’s website via their phone’s web browser.
“With the ChatGPT app for iOS, we’re taking another step toward our mission by transforming cutting-edge research into useful tools that empower people while making them more accessible,” the business stated.
The app’s release comes less than a month after OpenAI updated the ChatGPT platform to include improved privacy features such as the ability to remove conversation history and opt-out of having user data used to train the AI.
