Magic Eden has implemented support for the exchange of non-fungible tokens on the Polygon network, enhancing its capacity to collaborate with gaming projects on the network. Rather than solely serving as a forum for NFT trading, the company intends to extend and profit from Polygon’s emerging blockchain gaming specialty.

By trade volume, Magic Eden is the largest NFT marketplace on Solana. In August of this year, the project’s marketplace was released on the Ethereum blockchain for the first time.

Polygon is the third blockchain to be integrated by Magic Eden, following Solana and Ethereum. Parallel to Ethereum, Polygon, a proof-of-stake sidechain, enables cheaper transactions for Ethereum-based apps.

By utilizing Polygon, the Magic Eden team is able to assist game creators that wish to include NFTs. “Given Polygon’s popularity among game creators as a low-cost EVM-compatible chain, adding Polygon will further establish Magic Eden as the premier web3 gaming platform,” Magic Eden co-founder Zhuoxun Yin explained.

Magic Eden described its desire to collaborate with game publishers within the Polygon ecosystem via a new launchpad. Several game companies, including Bora, IntellaX, nWay, Block Games, Boomland, Planet Mojo, and Taunt Battleworld, have agreed to publish NFT-based gaming titles on Polygon through Magic Eden’s launchpad.
