Before it may withdraw its ETH from validators that have been sliced, Lido Finance, the premier liquid staking platform, has to pay a minimum penalty of 20 Ethereum.

On Wednesday, 20 validators affiliated with Launchnodes, one of Lido’s node operators, were removed from the Ethereum network, marking the most validators removed in a single day this year.

According to a Lido update, the protocol’s initial loss is roughly 20 ETH, with “additional penalties” to be expected for inactivity before departing the network.
