RNS is a digital Web3 identification platform that was intended to allow the application and issuance of sovereignty-backed IDs. On November 30, RNS made the announcement that it will be merging with zkSync in order to provide on-chain Know Your Customer functionality. RNS. stated in a release that was provided with Cointelegraph that their on-chain KYC solution is constructed on a “privacy engine” to encrypt users’ identification traits or properties into separate “hashed slices” with multiple signature verifications. This information was shared with the media outlet.

RNS compiles the fragmented identification property data provided by its users and then use ZK proofs to construct encrypted proofs from the information. The firm also said that RNS enables users to construct their own “minimum disclosure identifying information system” for confined usages, which prevents a breach of personal data and reduces the risks of identity theft. This was one of the benefits that the company touted regarding RNS.

The integration of ZkEVM with RNS is supposed to make it possible for solutions based on self-sovereignty to be implemented in the field of digital identity, which is a developing area in the digital world. Users will be able to keep their privacy while interacting with the Web3 ecosystem thanks to the integration, which will also make use of blockchain technology to enable identity verification. However, this will be accomplished without compromising the confidentiality of users’ sensitive data.

RNS is supported by over 80% of cryptocurrency exchanges, according to the business, which includes Binance, Coinbase, Bitmart, KuCoin,, Bybit, and Huobi, amongst many more.

Additionally, RNS worked with the nation of Palau to make it the first sovereign government in the world to issue digital residence IDs to people from all over the world. On the blockchain, termed “soulbound ID NFTs,” it is reportedly the first national identity card to be created.
