As the manufacturer ramped up manufacturing of its F-Series pickups and electric cars, February sales climbed by more than 20% compared to a year ago.
Thursday, the Detroit automaker announced February sales of 157,606 cars, up 22% year-over-year and 7.7% month-over-month. In February 2022, supply chain issues hindered Ford’s revenue, making it one of the company’s worst months since 2021.
Last month, sales of Ford’s F-Series trucks increased by 22% compared to the previous year, reaching approximately 55,000 units, including 1,336 units of its electrified F-150 Lightning. The purchases of F-Series trucks are up 15% so far this year.
Ford’s electric car purchases have increased by 88% in the past year. However, as of February, EV purchases constitute only 2.9% of the automaker’s total sales.
