Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange based in the United States, is launching a new service that will allow consumers to send money to one another for free using the world’s most common ways of communication.

“We’ve made it easy to send money anywhere you can share a link, whether it’s through messaging apps like WhatsApp, iMessage, and Telegram, social media platforms like Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram, or even via email,” the firm stated in a post on its website.

Coinbase also stated that consumers will be able to send money to others even if they are in other countries, adding that transfers will be quick and free of charge.

Both the donor and the recipient of the funds must have the Coinbase Wallet. If a person receives a link and does not already have Coinbase’s digital wallet, they will be sent to either the Apple or Android app stores, according to the business. If money is sent and not retrieved within two weeks, it is automatically returned to the sender.

According to the firm, Coinbase Wallet is available in over 170 countries.
