Cryptocurrency influencer Jason Williams sent a message on X (formerly known as Twitter) on August 28. Armstrong is no longer employed by Hit Network, BJ Investment Holdings, and all of their subsidiary businesses, including BitBoy Crypto and Around The Blockchain, he said. Armstrong has so far acted as the BitBoy brand’s figurehead. He said: “This decision has not been easy. However, after long consideration, we are confident that this is the only path forward.”

The rumours were further confirmed by cryptocurrency influencer Wendy O to her 194,000 YouTube subscribers during a live show.

Armstrong alleged on his Twitter page on August 27 that TJ Shedd & Justin Williams had tried to overthrow his business. In spite of confirming the allegations, he offered assurances that he did not fear losing control of the company. “Just confirming what is going around. It’s true. There has been a mutiny at BitBoy Crypto & Hit Network. But it won’t work. They have no leverage. Until they can clone me, I have nothing to worry about,” he added.

In response to Armstrong’s comments, blockchain analyst ZachXBT questioned whether Armstrong’s “recent involvement with all of these sketchy meme coins or something else” was the cause of the takeover.

Other remarks alluded to past disputes within the organisation, when it is alleged that some firm representatives tried to intimidate Armstrong by falsely implicating criminal cartels.
