The Merge stage of the Ethereum upgrade is currently underway. This is the project that will put an end to energy-intensive mining. The Merge represents the transition from the Proof-of-Work to the Proof-of-Stake system.

The final stage of the upgrade, sharding, aims to increase network capacity. The Ethereum network will be able to accommodate more data once the Sharding project is completed. It can also work in tandem with L2s to reduce the amount and network charges.

In order to improve the ETH network, Ethereum developers believe there is a greater need to educate the community about blockchain technology. This is necessary because the digital market is anticipating the Merge on September 15.

To that end, Ethereum cofounder Vitalik Buterin will publish Proof of Stake on September 27. The book Proof of Stake bears the subtitle “The Making of ETH and the Philosophy of Blockchain.” The book contains all of Buterin’s information on the blockchain network’s development.

According to the book description, Buterin’s papers focused on creating an internet-native world.

It also revealed the Ethereum developer’s ideology. According to the article, the ETH developer was more concerned with the fundamentals than the tokenomics.
