Cathie Wood stated on Monday that she expects another delay for ARK Invest’s planned spot bitcoin ETF, with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s review period for the fund ending next week.
“I think you’re probably right that Aug. 13 will come and go,” Wood said on Bloomberg Television when asked about a possible postponement. “I believe the SEC will approve more than one bitcoin ETF at the same time if it is going to approve one.”
The regulator is presently considering proposals for eight different funds, having previously acknowledged the majority of the recent wave from asset managers such as BlackRock, Fidelity, VanEck, and Invesco. The ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF was ahead of the field and now faces a decision deadline that the SEC can extend further.
