Below are five signs to spot a fraudulent cryptocurrency exchange:

  1. Suspicious URL

One of the easiest ways to spot a fake crypto exchange website is to look at the URL. Often, fake websites will use a URL that is similar to the real website, but with slight differences. For example, they might use a misspelling of the website name or add extra characters to the URL. Please take note that the official site to trade on ProEX is https://www.proex.io/en_US/

  1. Poor website design

Many fake crypto exchange websites are poorly designed and have a low-quality appearance. They may have broken links, grammatical errors, and inconsistent branding. If the website looks unprofessional or poorly made, it is likely a fake website.

  1. Lack of security features

Real crypto exchange websites take security seriously and will have measures in place to protect user information and transactions. Look for security features such as SSL encryption, two-factor authentication, and other security protocols. If a website does not have these features, it may be a fake website.

ProEX starts with https:// which is secured and also has mobile number and email two-factor authentication, and the option to bind Google Authenticator.

  1. Unusual payment methods

Fake crypto exchange websites may ask for payment in unusual methods, such as through gift cards, wire transfers, or other non-standard payment methods. If a website is asking for payment in an unusual way, it may be a fake website.

ProEX supports cryptocurrency deposits, P2P and third party fiat-to-crypto solutions such as Alchemypay and moonpay, and does not accept gift cards.

  1. Unsolicited emails or social media messages

Be wary of unsolicited emails or social media messages promoting a new crypto exchange website. These messages may be sent by scammers trying to trick users into visiting a fake website.

ProEX will never DM you first, and please email to support@proex.io if you have any enquiries.
